French Foilage Sympathy Card

Sympathy Cards have always been difficult for me to create.  Especially, when it is for someone that you are very close to.  I needed to make a Sympathy card for my Upline who recently lost her father.  I was searching through the Stampin' Connections site in hopes of finding that Special Card.  I was so amazed when I came across this card that Jenn Picard had made for someone very close to her.
It was perfect!

Jenn also shared a new technique with the Clear Acrylic Blocks called Shadow Stamping which she found on Dawn Olchefske's blog, Dostamping with Dawn.

You can see Dawn's video on her blog  ( Here )

Thanks Jenn for sharing this beautiful card!

This is my take of Jenn's card.

A Cute Christmas Snowman

Sometimes you see a card and you just have to give it a try!!  This card is one of those cards for me.  A super easy card to make for Christmas and it even has a WOW with it !  The WOW is how the scallop border was made.  Can you believe that the scallop border is made with the Fancy Flower Punch?  Well it certainly is.  Mary Fish even has a minute video that shows you how to make it.  ( Here)
Thanks Mary for sharing your video for this WOW!!

Here is my Cased Card that I found on Mary's blog Stampin' Pretty.
Snowman have always been something that I have collected.  So everytime I see anything with a Snowman, I have to check it out !!!  So the Cute Christmas stamp set caught my eye right off .

Be sure to watch the video to see how the scallop border is made.  That way you can use this WOW idea on some of your future cards!  This works for a 4" piece, like the one above.

Recipe:
Cardstock - Whisper White  8 1/2" x 5 1/2",  2 1/2" x 2 1/4", Scrap for note inside envelope
Real Red -  4" x 4 3/4", Plus scrap for heart
Basic Black - Scrap for Petal Card Punch and Fancy Flower Punch
Designer Paper - Candy Cane Christmas  4" x 3"
Bitty Heart Punch, Petal Card Punch, Fancy Flower Punch, 1/8" Real Red Taffeta ribbon, Mini Clip
Black Flourish Jewels for Coal and center of Heart

Let's see what ideas you come up with.  Send me an email with a picture of your card.  (Click Here)
Then I'll post your ideas on my blog.

Happy Stamping  !!!

Days Til Christmas Calendar

I've always wanted to make my very own Days Til Christmas calendar.  Somehow, it just didn't happen until NOW!!!
I wasn't able to attend our October downline meeting.  However, we are so lucky to have someone in our group  (That person is Carol Rosengren)  who always takes pictures for us and posts them on our group website.           A Big Thank You to Carol !!
So I was browsing through the pictures to see all the fun shares and I saw that Terri Snider had made a Days Til Christmas calendar.  It was so cute!  Terri and I are the blog browsers of the group.  So I had to ask her where she found this and how did she make it.   The idea was actually on Splitcoast Stampers in the resource section.  It is Titled as  "Advent Calendar".    So if you are a member of Splitcoast Stampers - go check it out!  If not a member yet, then sign up it's free.

Here is a picture of Terri's calendar, but she is actually not the one holding it here.  We pass all the Share items around so pictures can be taken.  Terri used a Simply Scrapping Kit and Die Cuts all from Stampin' Up.  Thank You Terri for sharing this awesome calendar!

Now here is my take on the Days Til Christmas Calendar.

This is the full view of this FUN project !   And below is a close up, so you can see the detail of this cute Calendar.   You see I have that "Jolly Holiday"  theme going on again.  I just LOVE this Designer Paper!!

I used the Jolly Holiday Designer Paper (24 Squares 2 3/4" x 2 3/4").  Cardstock is Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive (24 Squares 3" x 3").  Timeless Type Alphabet set for the Letters and the Numbers.  Scallop Circle Punch, Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue
The Holly was made with the Large Oval Punch and the 1/2" Circle Punch.  Artist Canvas is 16" x 20", Wilton wedding favor tins (24), Use one Velcro dot in the center on the back of each tin to stick to the board (24).

Be sure that you don't forget to put all kinds of candy treats and special surprises, maybe even some money in the Tins to be opened each day until Christmas !!!!

Happy Stamping !!!

November Stamp Club Projects

Today I wanted to share the November Stamp Club Projects with you. We actually did 3 projects this month with a mix of Thanksgiving and Christmas Gifts.

The first project is the Thanksgiving Treat Bags which I showed you on November 10th.  (Here)
There are a couple of ladies who will be using these for their family Thanksgiving Dinner.  It's so nice to have something special for each person at the table.

The second project was the Christmas Sachet which I showed you on November 5th.   (Here)
These really make a wonderful little handmade gift for a Special Someone, no matter what the occassion might be.

And this is the 3rd project which is this cute gift card that looks like a present!  I have seen a couple of takes of these on different blogs.
However, I first saw this one on Late Night Stampers created for a challenge that Vicki Burdick from the Design Team had been chosen for.  I just LOVE how this looks just like a Mini Present.  So this is a case of her entry.  Vicki has directions on her blog   (Here)   Thanks Vicki for sharing your wonderful idea !!!

Who doesn't LOVE to receive a present !!!

This is the front view of the gift card holder.

This is the inside view showing the gift card insert.

We always have such a fun time at Stamp Club and I always look forward to seeing everyone.  If you are in the Minneapolis area and interested in joining in on the Fun Night once a month.  You can contact me at  sdyas0936@msn.com .  I hope I've given you a good start with some ideas for your Christmas Projects.

Thanksgiving Treat Bags

Today, I wanted to share an old idea with a new twist.  Last year the Pretzel Bags were a big hit and so many possibilities for the Holidays.  I first saw these cute bags on Becky Roberts blog "Inking Idaho".
This year the York Peppermint Patties are now being packaged differently.  Which unfortunately, makes them not as easy to use with the Preztel Bags as they are square now instead of being round.  Recently, I saw a cute idea using the Pretzel Bags and here is the new twist.  They were filled with "Hershey Nuggets".  You need to reinforce the bag with a piece of cardstock and then cover the Hershey Nuggets with Designer Paper.  Add them to the Pretzel Bag and then you have a wonderful little Treat Bag to give to everyone at the Holidays.  I saw this new twist on Stampin' Connections and it was Lisa Rodriguez who had posted it.  Thank You Lisa for bringing back this idea with a new twist!

Here is the idea for Thanksgiving Treats !

Recipe:
5 Hershey Nuggets
Autumn Spice Deisigner Paper    1" x  3" strips
Cardstock - More Mustard         1 3/8" x  5"
Ink - More Mustard, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze
Stamp Sets - Seasonal Sentiments, Day of Gratitude
Early Espresso 1/4" grosgrain ribbon
Sticky Strip - on both ends of the Designer Paper
Pretzel Bags - Found in the Cake Decorating section of most craft stores.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday !!!

Happy Stamping !!

Ghirardelli Christmas Mini Box with a 3 x 3 Card

Remember when I found this cute little Mini Box and 4 cards for Halloween that Dawn Griffith had made.  These are so easy to make and a very nice little gift for that special someone.   For the inside of the box you can put Ghirardelli chocolate (my favorite) and a 3 x 3 card to place inside.   Or you could make four 3 x 3 cards to put inside.  Remember when I said that you could change up the Designer Paper and decorate the outside with a different Stamp set of your choice for any occasion.  Well today it's time for a Christmas Mini Box.

Recipe:
Jolly Holiday Designer Paper    Cut at 3" X 7 3/4"
Carstock  Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
Sticky Strip
Old Olive 3/8" Tafftea Ribbon    Approx 8"
1/16" Handheld Punch
Wide Oval  Punch, Word Punch, Designer Label Punch
Glimmer Brads ( Brights Collection )
Stamp Set is: Contempo Christmas, Bells & Boughs, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Here's the link for Dawn's Mini Box video:  (here)

Contempo Christmas

I really liked the Contempo Christmas stamp set when I first saw it in the 2010- 2011 Idea and Catalog Book.  It was one of the first stamp sets that I ordered.  When I got my November Tutorial I was so excited to see that this set was used for the current month of November.  Perfect Timing!!  The Contempo Christmas card is one of the cards created for the November Tutorial by Chat Wszelaki @ Me, My Stamps and I.

Thanks Chat for using this set for your November Tutorial !!
You can check out her blog for ordering the Tutorial.  (here)

SO here it is!

I really like how elegant and beautiful this card is.  I think the only thing I changed was I used a different ribbon and placed it differently.  Those who know me, will be LOL now!  They know I can't hardly ever make a card without having ribbon on it somewhere.   :)
Still LOVING the Jolly Holiday Designer Paper!!

Have a wonderful weekend and take some time to do some Stamping!!

Christmas Sachets

I'm really getting into the Christmas Gift Ideas and there are so many of them !!  My mind just spins going over all the creativity and sharing.  The other day on Late Night Stampers Carla Brasher shared her week 9 project of her 12 Weeks of Christmas tutorials.  Carla has the tutorial for you on her website.  (here)  The Christmas Sachets are so adorable and so very easy to make!  I changed the ribbon and sponged the edge on the top of the sachet.  I also used Fresh Scents Pomegranate Sachet for the mixture inside as it saved some time for me.  Carla's tutorial actually shows you how you can make your own sachet mixure.

Thanks Carla for sharing your project !!

So here's my take.

With the ribbon handle on the back you can put these on a hanger in your closet, hang them up in a room or put them in a drawer. Wonderful !!!

Recipe:  Medium Crumb Cake Envelope, Ribbon of your choice, Stamp set of your choice.
I used the Level One Hostess set - Northern Hearts.

Crop-A-Dile, Crimper, Eyelet Border Punch, white gel pen.
Markers:  Crumb Cake, Real Red and Old Olive

Now it's your turn.  I would love to see what you come up with!

Happy Stamping !!

Dasher Christmas Card

Tonight I have a "Dasher" Christmas Card to share with you.  It was one of my favorite stamps last year and when I saw this card I just couldn't resist giving it a try.  Can you see that I kinda have a "Jolly Holiday" Paper Theme going on right now.  Which is currently my favorite Christmas Designer Paper.  When I found this card I thought that I wrote down who's blog I saw it on.  But now I'm not able to locate that information.  So if this is your card, please let me know so that I can give you credit.  I added a little bling to make it SPARKLE!

Recipe:
Stamps Sets:  Perfect Punches, Dasher
Cardstock:  Very Vanilla  8 1/2" x 5 1/2",  2" x 2 3/4", Plus a Scrap
                  Cherry Cobbler  4" x 5 1/4,  Plus a Scrap
                  Old Olive  2 1/4" x 3",  Plus a Scrap
Jolly Holiday Designer Paper  2 1/4" x 5"
5/8" Victoria Crochet Trim, Basic Rhinestones,  1 3/4 Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch,
1 1/4 Circle Punch

This card was super easy to make and it might just be my Christmas card this year, we'll have to wait
and see.  I'm off to do some more stamping tonight, so wish me luck!!

Happy Stamping !!
