May Stamp Club Surprise

Well it certainly has been a scary and wild couple of days here in Minneapolis.  Saturday and Sunday were spent in the basement while the weather went way out of control.  Saturday night a tornado touched down just about 2 miles from our house.  Then on Sunday afternoon there was another tornado touchdown about 5 miles away on the other side of us.  Then 2 more touchdowns as it made it's way up to the North of us.  Thankfully, we are okay.  However, there was a lot a damage not that far away.

This picture is from the touchdown Saturday night which was right up the road from us in Medina, a mere 2 miles away.  No, I didn't take this picture.

Moving on, Remember I said in my last post that I had a Surprise to share from my May Stamp Club.  Well one of my ladies at Stamp Club is going to be a Mommy again pretty soon, so we decided that a Surprise Mini Shower was in order.  We were all going to make a card and then I decided that I needed that Special gift.  I have seen so many of these cute Diaper Cakes lately.  So, of course I just had to give it a try.  Off to the store I went to gather all the necessary items.  Then the rolling of all the diapers began.  Once you get all the diapers rolled, it's really pretty easy.

The happy Mom to be is going to have another little BOY!!  Just exactly what she wanted too!

So here we have my first attempt at the Diaper Cake.  Viola !!!

I found the cutest Teddy Bear for the Top of the cake, so I decided to go with that as my theme too.  I used Bashful Blue cardstock and the Celebrations Designer paper to make my bands around each layer.  Real Red and Pacific Point cardstock to make "BABY" on the cake front, using the Big Shot and Timeless Type alphabet dies and the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch.   I used the Big Shot and the Stars die for the top layer and added all the little bears on each layer using toothpicks.  Scallop Circle Punch was perfect for making the little Teddy Bear Accents with Real Red grosgrain bows.  The Teddy Bear is from the Baby Bundle stamp set.  Added some Real Red Satin Ribbon bows on the bottom layer for the finishing touch and there you have it!!

Here's a close up of the front of the Diaper Cake.

This is an overhead view of the Teddy Bear Diaper Cake.

Mom was surprised and Loved IT !!!!!  Mission accomplished.

As Always I Thank You for stopping by !!!

Happy Stamping !!!

May Stamp Club Projects

Thursday night was Stamp Club and we had an awesome evening along with a Surprise too!  I'll share the surprise with you in another post after I share the Stamp Club projects with you.

Usually, I only have one theme for Stamp Club.  However, School will be out for summer break soon, so Teacher Appreciation gifts are popular.  Then Father's Day is just around the corner.  Birthdays are always a must any time of year and I wanted to share the Embedded Embossing Technique.  So I had three projects with a variety of Themes this time round.

Here is the group picture of all the projects.

First project is a Teacher Appreciation Gift.  This idea is from Mary Fish.  Mary currently has her New On-line Video Class up on her blog.   The link is  ( Here )   I loved your Class Mary !!!

This is my take on Mary's card caddy.

The Card Caddy holds four cute  3 x 3 cards and mini envelopes.

Just imagine your child giving this gift to their Teacher.

These 3 x 3 cards are so easy to make too!

The second project is a Dad's Day card.  I saw this card over on Sandy Hancock's blog where they had a Masculine Card Swap.  Masculine Cards are always a challenge for me, but The Open Sea stamp set makes some wonderful cards for guys.  This card was created by Lynn Anderson.  I could tell that this card was just begging me to case it for sure.  You can check out the other Masculine cards that were shared   ( Here )
Thanks Sandy and Lynn for sharing your swap ideas!

This set has so many options, it's one of my current favorites in the Summer Mini!

The third project is a Birthday card using the Embedded Embossing technique.  This card was shared by Terri Snider at our DIVA meeting this month.  It features the New Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch from the Summer Mini.

The ladies loved your card Terri !! Thanks for sharing with us!!

Fabulous Florets Card

Hello Ladies,  I've kinda been MIA lately.  Sorry about that, and then this week there have been some problems where I haven't been able to log on to post due to issues with blogger.  I have been busy though and I do have some projects that I hope you will enjoy.  I'm also so excited as I celebrated my 5 years with Stampin' Up on May 3rd.  My 5 year PIN arrived in the mail on Wednesday.  Woo Hoo !!
This is the BEST job that I've ever had!!

Let's start off with a beautiful card made with the Fabulous Florets stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalog.  I really love the Fabulous Florets set !  Well, I found this card on Dawn Olchefske's blog - DOstamping with Dawn.  ( You can see Dawn's card Here )

I fell in love with it the minute I saw it, so of course I just had to do a case card.  I was looking for a Mother's Day card idea to send to a Special someone.  There are only a couple of things that I did change the greeting which is from the Level 1 Hostess set "Afterthoughts" and the ribbon is Basic Black 3/8" Taffeta .
I needed to mail this card and figured it was better if I used a less bulky ribbon.
Thank You Dawn for sharing !!

So this is my take of Dawn's card.

This is such an elegant card!!

Mother's Day Gift

With just a few days left until Mother's Day, I thought I would share this cute idea with you today.  It is such an easy project and perfect for Mother's Day !!!  I found this cute little basket on Angie Kennedy Juda's blog.   ( Here )  I did make several of Angie's Easter baskets this year, but I thought it would be perfect for Mother's Day too!

So here's my take on Angie's idea only for Mother's Day instead.

These really are too cute for words.  And what do you suppose is inside the basket, why Chocolate of course!  Three Ferrero Rocher chocolates fit just perfectly in the basket.  I know that I would LOVE to receive this cute gift on Sunday for Mother's Day!  Imagine your Mother opening her gifts to find this cute basket from YOU !!  You can do it, you still have time.

Here's a semi side view of the basket.

Angie has a video and a printer friendly option for the basic directions, so I will only tell what I changed.

I used the Beyond the Garden Designer Paper from the New Summer Mini.  I Love all the bright colors!

Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango cardstock, along with Whisper White. The "Fabulous Florets" stamp set, which is a must have ladies!! The Greeting is from the "Something to Celebrate" Hostess set from the just Retired Ocassions Mini catalog. The handle is made with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and attached with the Daffodil Delight Flower Brads. The 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch and the 1 3/8" Circle Punch.  I used Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango and Always Artichoke markers to color the stamp.  Stazon Black for the greeting.

Thanks to Angie for sharing this project !!

I want to Thank all of you for stopping by to visit today!!

Happy Stamping !!!
